Our Mission Statement

To help reduce the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable cats, to reduce the cruelty to and neglect of cats and to educate the general public in cat related issues.

The Cat Shack is a no-kill, non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt cat rescue organization.  We attempt to find permanent homes for stray and unwanted cats and kittens.

Prior to adoption, all cats are neutered/spayed updated on required vaccines. All our cats are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immuno deficiency virus (FIV).

The Cat Shack serves to place 3 CATegories of needy cats:

pawprint Friendly Strays and kittens looking for safe, permanent indoor homes.

pawprint Feral (wild) Strays who are not suitable for inside homes and who seek safe, permanent barn homes where they can be employed as mousers.  There is no adoption fee for barn cats though donations are appreciated.

pawprint In an effort to help people place pets that they can no longer keep for some reason, we will post the cats picture/story and the owner's contact information. These cats are NOT being adopted through The Cat Shack and the adopter will deal directly with the owner. These cats will have a * symbol next to their names.

How We Can Help Each Other

The Cat Shack continues to offer low cost spay/neuter clinics where stray and feral cats can be altered to help curb the serious cat overpopulation problem.

Please spay and neuter your pets and, if you are feeding stray or feral cats, please be responsible and have them spayed and neutered also.  It is up to us, the animals lovers that care about these cats, to assure that there is a GOOD home available for every kitten born.  We all need to do our part to prevent the birth of new cats that will never be adopted.

We have so many wonderful pets who would love to have a home with you.  Check them out!

And, we would LOVE your support of our various fundraisers and programs!

Thank you all for your efforts and support!
